2013 IBBY/NCRCL Conference: ‘Feast or Famine: Food in Children’s Literature’

We are pleased to announce that the bookings are now open for the 20th Annual IBBY/NCRCL MA Conference, which will take place at Froebel College, University of Roehampton on Saturday 9 November 2013. The conference theme is ‘Feast or Famine: Food and Children’s Literature’’.

This year’s plenary speakers will include Professor Jean Webb (Worcester), Guo Yue, and Fiona Dunbar, author of the Lulu Baker series, which is now also a major CBBC TV series. Professor Nicola Humble (Roehampton) will also be presenting on her research in food and literature.

We’ve also just heard that there’s going to be a very special cake too!

Elle Hamblen, MA in Children’s Literature alumna, wrote summarised part of the day with her blog post on David Lucas’ talk: ‘Drawing, stories, ambiguity and magic.’
